We’ve all heard various sayings that decry revenge as being a worthless act that’s beneath any civilized human being. “An eye for an eye leaves the whole world blind” said Gandhi. “Before you embark on a journey of revenge, dig two graves” said Confucius. “Two wrongs don’t make a right” said your parents probably at some point during your childhood.

How is it possible for you to literally sound posher than Prince William? Dial it back a couple of points dude, it sounds ridiculous. The poshest person in the country doesn't sound that posh so what are you trying to prove?
Wow...you managed to call Roland Emmerich "Roald," "Ronald," and "Robert" all in a single second! And apparently, Roger Ebert borrowed that "Robert" moments later.
Also, George Lucas didn't make E.T. Did you not research this one?
Michael Crichton was a much needed voice in the global warming debate. In a world where the only two voice are "we're all going to die!" and "nothing is happening" you had a guy who was looking at the data, objectively searching for the cause, and saying we shouldn't politicize scientific issues. To that, I say kudos.
In Swedish and German we have two words.
Revenge as acts of murder and mayhem are described as "hämnd"/"Rache", while Swedish and at least Austrian German has "revanch"/Revansche" as equivalent to what you are probably describing.
I offered a friend (an adult childhood friend, if that makes sense, met later when I was myself also adult) something, and in order to motivate offering me sth in return, she said "ich muß mich revanschieren" ... She would obviously not have said "ich muß mich rächen".
You forgot about the time that Lord Byron's original version of Don Juan included a dedication that was a complete hit piece on another poet, Robert Southerly, who had accused him of incest. It included the line "I wish your fate may yield ye, when she chooses,/The fame you envy and the skill you need."
i saw the pride house in 2014. I was working in Kansas and didnt realize that the chruch was there and was walking around Topeka and was omg that is that church and then looked across the street and was like yes, at the pride house
I live in a small town of 20,000 people. One day they KKK came to my town to do some recruiting. They requested protection from our city’s police force. So my city sent every black police officer to keep them safe while they visited my town.
Open minded tolerant liberal Simon calling people with different beliefs than his "horrible people." It wouldn't be a problem if you and other sjws didn't preach openness and tolerance towards those you agree with while judging people you don't. At best you are a a hypocrite. At worst you are contributing to the intolerant left.
If a man puts out an eye and is unpunished he puts out another, and another, and another. Eventually all but one are blind. If a man puts out an eye and is immediately punished by having his eye put out, he stops there, or at most at one more, and no more after that are harmed. All others considering putting out another's eye reconsider such actions. Since one is already dead when seeking revenge only one more grave need be dug, and when that was is filled no more will need do be dug. Despite the fact that we dress it up, revenge is the foundation of justice.
Ever notice how the people who try to tell you that revenge is bad are the same people that you want to get revenge on? Just saying. Same goes for the outlawing of the pistol duel and the guillotine. Without the pistol duel or the guillotine people in power are allowed to run amok.
