Which has meant that over the years, what exactly they did and who they were has been muddied by Hollywood. So, here are 10 facts you may not know about this not-so-secret ancient order of knights…

1. That Templars Always Wore Those Tunics
The king of France killing them because he owed them money. Is not 100% true . The real reason they were killed was because Following the recapture of most of the crusader kingdoms. The knights templar lost there mane mission and became a standing army in Europe above most European law and not loyal to any ruler, only loyal to there own ideology. They also had hinted at wanting to take a province of France to govern as a monastic province ... which the king of France was having none of. He hated the idea of a army not loyal to himl within his kingdoms governing one of his provinces.
They were seized. Of course we know a couple to few would escape if possible. But all in all most valuables were seized. The knights Templar lived in poverty. In end taken out therefore were not above law long.
Well there's one wrong thing here though I'd like most all of it, the Templars did not know the Bible they did not even have a Bible and they certainly did not live by the Bible they were Roman Catholics and lived by the traditions of the church.
The Catholic Church to this very day does not go by the Bible but by tradition.
We would hope all people would go by the Bible and live by God's ways not man's ways and trust Christ as their Saviour according to the scriptures
I am really enjoying this series. Thanks for making it available to everyone! Question: did all of the money end up in the hands of Heads of State and a select, few, super rich people? Well, besides the Pope/Vatican of course!
I heard of them, from what I read they said they were witches so they had to get rid of them. But I think they were making money and they were very popular so kingdoms got together and got rid of them.
@TopTenz, thank you so much for your very informative and interesting posts! Please just note that the image in #6 is that of Philip IV of Spain (House of Habsburg, a few centuries later...) not of Philip IV of France (House of Capet). Thanks again!
Two handed broad swords... There's no historical sword called two handed broad sword. Broad sword is reneisanse one handed baskethilt sword. No medieval sword is called broad sword. One handed european swords are arming swords and two handed are long swords. Broad sword and great sword are both reneisance era swords, not used in medieval times.
The drawings of those executions were set in Troyes, about an hour and a half outside of Paris. It's one of the few intact medieval cities because it was fortunate enough to avoid the bombs and warfare of WWII, so the city center looks pretty much the same now as it did then.
Templars were Gnostics and the predecessors of the freemasons. They practised sodomy, spat on the cross and worshipped a head called Baphomet. Their confessions were true. Philip of France was motivated by religious zeal as well as greed in persecuting them.
I enjoy your videos, I really do BUT your attempts at humour always seem to spoil them.
It's getting to the stage where I am finding it hard to watch videos all the way through without the urge to "bail out" striking me...
You left out a detail: they found the hidden gold somewhere. Possibly took it to the English Isles, don’t know. A kept secret. The Roth family were poor but grew up figuring out loan sharking, threw Child on the end of their name and don’t ask me how they did it but they came across the gold! Spread it around to creste huge joints, Wall Street, Fort Knox. You know drill. Ultimately goal NWO - Jew at the top and Cattle as slaves at the bottom. 500,00 people on the planet. Probably food for the lizard kings. I’m going nuts 🥜
The templars were eradicated in 1312, the first full sets of plate armor were worn around 1420, so no templars were not "decked head to toe in heavy plate steel." and were not wearing "rad as hell" armor. They were wearing chainmail like every other Knight at the time.
